Valculus’ range of learning programmes has been developed from a knowledge bank of ValueSim modules. We work with forward-looking business schools to deliver our executive programmes as part of their own client offer. Programmes are always focused directly on the specific needs of each school.

Our programmes range from one day introductions to more intensive five day ‘hands on’ workshops. The learning process is jointly managed by Valculus and faculty members. All our modules utilise leading edge web-based learning methods and are available as components for distance learning programmes. Where schools wish to develop their own technical and organisational competence, we can help with full training workshops in simulation skills.

Relationship management

Valculus typically works with specialist faculty professors in the more quantitative disciplines of strategy and finance. Increasingly, however, we are also working in the softer areas such as brand management and value communication. We always work alongside the faculty and executive education directorate to ensure the programmes meet the overall school’s business needs.

In certain instances Valculus will develop bespoke ValueSims to meet specialised training needs. We are currently developing a ‘Managing uncertainty’ programme that integrates real options valuation within a strategy simulation module.

Future development

Valculus is working on a number of future developments with specialist business schools and sharing knowledge/best practice from the leading US schools. Two illustrative developments are:

• Introducing new ValueSim software techniques and learning methods with a particular focus on web-based simulation
• Extending traditional executive education programmes into longer term client consulting relationships
